Cardinals win OT thriller against Perry

Cardinals earn 3A District 7 football honors

Seventeen area players earn all-state football honors
Newton placed two players on the class 3A all-state football team.  Newton rushed for a 3A-high 3,105 yards this past season. The Cardinals also scored 38 rushing TDs, which ranked second in 3A, and was sixth in total yards with 3,830. 

Cardinals come up short against Clarke
Newton High’s Cardinal girls had things going to open the game Saturday, which was the fourth of four games in their Newton Girls’ Varsity Holiday Tournament. 

Valtman signs to play Drake softball
